IT Regulatory Officer

Overview:

The IT Regulatory Officer will serve as the primary interface with regulators and regulatory relations. Manage exams, coordinate regulatory communications, and provide consultative services. Engage with stakeholders amongst senior leadership team. Assists in preparing materials for regulatory interactions. Responsible for all regulatory interactions across IT, including direct engagement with executives and regulators. Consulted as the subject matter expert in regulatory interactions and communications. In addition, provide assessment and oversight of regulatory compliance within IT.


This position will be 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, in Raleigh, NC


Responsibilities:
  • Lead Regulatory Exams: Responsible for managing all aspects of exams performed by primary regulators, in consultation with Regulatory Relations and the IT senior leadership team. Provides direction, oversight, and management to all aspects of regulatory exams, reviews, and continuous monitoring activities, ensuring complex internal information from multiple business partners flows effectively and efficiently to primary regulators. Responsible for preparation of materials, providing dry-run for speakers, review of content, capture of meeting notes, organization of follow-ups, and reporting of sentiments to ITRC and IT SLT, including potential areas of concern.
  • Regulatory Presentations: Accountable for developing materials for periodic OGS/OGM meetings with regulators in consultation with IT senior leadership team
  • Evaluating Risk Assessments: Responsible for providing regulatory schedule and focus to Control Management team, and incorporating results from the risk assessments in the preparation for regulatory exams. Consulted in the specific activities in scope for risk assessments.
  • Evaluating Regulatory Requirements: Responsible for assessing the regulatory compliance requirements for IT, including AML/BSA, Deposits, Lending, CRA/HMDA/Fair Lending, Financial Products, Privacy, and Safety and Soundness regulations. Provide oversight of requirements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience in Financial Services, Risk Management, Legal, Regulatory Examination, or Compliance OR High School Diploma or GED and 11 years of experience in Financial Services, Risk Management, Legal, Regulatory Examination, or Compliance
Preferred Education: Master's Degree / MBA
Preferred Area of Study: Legal or Business Administration
Preferred Area of
Experience: Regulatory Relations or Legal in an IT organization
License or Certification Type: CRISC - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control , CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor , CIA - Certified IT Auditor

Skill(s):


    • Knowledge of financial sector regulatory practices for a large financial institution (LFI)
    • Knowledge of various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes,
    • Ability to effectively communicate regulatory information to technical, management, regulators, and executive audiences,
    • Ability to bring resolution to complex inquiries/issues involving multiple stakeholders,
    • Knowledge of risk techniques and practices,
    • Experience managing risk, performing governance activities, and risk assessment activities in Large Financial Institutions (>5 years)
    • Experience with assessment and oversight of regulatory compliance within IT

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
